The LIBRE Initiative Unveils Legislative Agenda Focusing on Expanding Opportunity & Prosperity for all Latinos
(Raleigh, North Carolina) – Today, The LIBRE Initiative, an organization committed to empowering the Latino community, unveiled its legislative agenda focusing on expanding educational freedom, removing barriers in our health care system and enacting pro-growth economic policies.
The LIBRE Initiative is a national non-profit and non-partisan organization with a chapter in North Carolina and field offices in the Research Triangle and in Charlotte.
Jeffrey Baldwin, strategic director for The LIBRE Initiative, issued the following statement:
“Despite massive headwinds from Washington policies, the Latino community in North Carolina is thriving. But more must be done to ensure that all North Carolinians – including Latinos – are able to live out their version of the American Dream.
“LIBRE is proud of our agenda because we have bold plans to help grow our local economy while allowing families to have more choice in education and health care. Our agenda represents our belief in people and the idea that those closest to the problem are best equipped to find solutions.
We look forward to mobilizing our volunteers and activists and stand ready to work with lawmakers, from both sides of the aisle, to make North Carolina an even better place to live.”
The LIBRE North Carolina chapter also announced two new hires for grassroots engagement directors who will be responsible for community organizing in their respective communities. The two new hires are:
Cecilia Navas in Charlotte and Jose Luis Mora Mendez in Raleigh
