EVENT ADVISORY: Inflation Event at Hispanic Grocery Store Hosted by The LIBRE Initiative

Gift card giveaway to offset the cost of inflation, disproportionately affecting the Latino community
(Wilmington, NC) – The LIBRE Initiative (LIBRE) will host a grassroots event to bring awareness to harmful federal policies driving up costs of everyday goods as a part of “The True Cost of Washington” campaign.
Skyrocketing inflation has caused the average household’s annual grocery costs to go up by about $430. To demonstrate the true cost of Washington’s policies, LIBRE is giving out gift cards worth the average cost of inflation for two days ($28.67). WHO: The LIBRE Initiative-North Carolina and grassroots activists WHAT: Grassroots awareness event WHEN: Thursday, June 30th from 12:00pm to 2:00pm WHERE: Los Portales Supermarket 912 Kerr Avenue, Wilmington, NC 28403 WHY: The federal government’s spending policies and burdensome regulations have led to skyrocketing costs and the highest levels of inflation in four decades. On average, Latinos spend more on income staples like food—they are immoderately feeling the squeeze as the prices of everyday goods continue to rise. Getting prices under control is very clearly the number one priority for majority of Latinos, and it underscores the challenges Biden is facing now. Background:
