Proposition CC Vote is a Win for Hispanic Families

Voters Right to Uphold Taxpayer Bill of Rights

(Denver, CO)— Today Coloradans voted to reject Proposition CC, the statewide ballot initiative, which would have permanently dismantled the Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights (TABOR), removing the mandate that requires the government to refund excess state revenues to taxpayers.

Angel Merlos, Coalitions Director for The LIBRE Initiative – Colorado, released the following statement:

“Colorado voters were right to vote against Proposition CC, maintaining reasonable limits on government spending increases and returning excess revenues to taxpayers. With TABOR, government growth is limited, the economy is able to prosper, and Colorado families are empowered to spend their hard-earned money however they see fit. The LIBRE Initiative thanks the many grassroots activists and coalition partners who worked tirelessly throughout this campaign in support of protecting the Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights and a better future for Colorado’s economy.”
