ICYMI: The LIBRE Initiative Drives Media Coverage on Proposition CC Vote

(Denver, CO)— On Tuesday, Colorado voters moved to vote against Proposition CC, marking  a victory for Hispanic families in Colorado. Leading up to the election, The LIBRE Initiative engaged activists and educated voters on the issue through a multimedia campaign including mailers, TV ads, digital ads, phone calls, texting, etc. Multiple local outlets covered the election night victory. “I think TABOR is a very good law for us natives, us people here in Colorado. We want to be able to keep the money that we earn, and not just give it to the politicians to spend on whatever they want. We need to keep our infrastructure good, schools definitely need the money that could be given to them, but this is not the way to go about it.”

El Comercio: TABOR RESISTIÓ OTRA ENVESTIDA

 

Sin embargo, se impuso el criterio de los contribuyentes que querían recibir ellos la porción que les correspondía de los excedentes fiscales en Colorado. “Los votantes de Colorado tenían razón al votar en contra de la Proposición CC, manteniendo límites razonables en los aumentos de gastos del gobierno y devolviendo el exceso de ingresos a los contribuyentes”, aseguro Angel Merlos, representante de la organización Libre que promovió el No en la propuesta CC.
