One Big Beautiful bill: What do Latinos think?
June 27, 2025
What happens in Washington doesn’t stay in Washington. Decisions made on Capitol Hill have a big effect on your wallet, your bills, and almost every aspect of your life.
And right now, Congress is poised to make a huge decision.
The Senate is debating whether to follow the House’s lead and pass the One Big Beautiful Bill, which would (among other things) protect Americans from a massive tax hike in 2026.
So, what do Latinos think about the key issues in the bill? Thankfully, we know just where to find out.
Just a few months ago, our sister organization, The LIBRE Institute, commissioned a nationwide poll of Latino voters on the most important issues America faces.
The message from Latinos? Get it done.
Here’s what Latinos think about some of the most important topics in the bill:
✅ EXTEND THE TAX CUTS
On this big issue, Latinos are almost unanimous.
Congress must extend the 2017 tax cuts and save Americans from the biggest tax hike in history, which would cost the average American household $1,500.
This is a top priority for Latinos across the country. Here’s what the poll shows:
- More than 9 in 10 Latinos are concerned that their taxes would go up.
- A whopping 84% think their taxes are too high.
- Almost 3 in 4 Latinos think the government isn’t doing a good job with their money.
Latinos are right to feel that way.
The failed economic policies of the Biden administration led to record-high inflation and a weak economy, hitting Latinos hard.
Between 2021 and 2024, the average American household paid more than $10,000 more every year just to maintain the same quality of life. While Bidenomics is thankfully over, Americans are still feeling its effects.
The last thing we need is for Washington to squeeze hardworking families and waste even more of their money.
💡 BRING UTILITY PRICES DOWN
Almost 90% of Latinos say their utilities have gone up over the last year — and they want those bills to go down.
Fortunately, America has the resources, technology, and workforce to lower prices and produce more energy. But one big thing stands in the way: overregulation.
The federal government makes it too hard for businesses to provide reliable and affordable energy. Latinos know this, too:
- More than 7 in 10 Latinos think the federal government makes it too hard for businesses to produce more energy.
- Almost 8 in 10 think America needs to produce more of its own oil and gas.
That’s one reason this bill matters!
The One Big Beautiful Bill cuts back harmful regulations — especially Biden-era rules that slowed down energy projects — and speeds up approvals so we can build more infrastructure, lower prices, and boost U.S. energy independence.
Latinos want a lower utility bill, and the One Big Beautiful Bill can help make that happen.
🛡️ A BIG WIN FOR BORDER SECURITY
Border security matters to every family, no matter which part of America you live in. An out-of-control border leaves the door open for dangerous criminals to come in and puts too much strain on local resources.
Latinos want Washington to do its job and bring order back to the southern border. Here’s what the numbers show:
- More than 7 in 10 Latino voters agree we should do what’s necessary to control the southern border.
- More than two-thirds of all Latino voters think we need to do more to support Border Patrol agents.
This bill delivers what Latinos want for border security.
It invests billions to finish President Trump’s border wall and funds new Border Patrol agents, customs officers, and ICE agents.
This bill will bring more people to the front lines and keep our communities safe.
It’s time for the Senate to listen to Latinos and pass the One Big Beautiful Bill.
Latinos want change. They want policies that’ll bring prices down, raise wages, and strengthen our economy.
The One Big Beautiful Bill does that, and Congress has a historic opportunity to deliver.
At LIBRE, we’re mobilizing our grassroots army to get Congress to do the right thing and send the bill to the president’s desk.
Your voice matters. Tell your lawmakers to vote for the One Big Beautiful Bill.
