Arlington, VA — Today, The LIBRE Initiative, the largest center-right Latino organization in the country, released “Vive tu American Dream” (Live your American Dream), a new video addressing the importance of introducing Latinos to policy solutions that provide more freedom and opportunity to prosper in the United States. Founding President Daniel Garza and grassroots state directors explain how the organization he founded thirteen years ago has helped thousands of Latinos across the country on the path to achieving their American Dream.
This release comes on the same day as LIBRE launches its brand new website.
LIBRE and its sister organization The LIBRE Institute, are rooted in Hispanic communities across thirteen states. LIBRE aims to give Latinos a voice through visibility in the media, advocacy in the halls of power, and programs that help build thriving Latino communities.
Excerpts from the video:
“The story of America is the story of rugged individualism and self-determination … People come to America to achieve their aspirations – and the Latino community has been no different. … Critical to a strong America is a strong Latino community – and vice versa. We are interdependent of each other.”
— Daniel Garza, Founding President of The LIBRE Initiative
“Many of us feel like that’s [politics] for the special people. They’re the ones who make the laws and they make change because from the countries that we come from most of the time that is the case, but here in America it is different. … We don’t just work on these issues because it’s what the big man says we should. We’ve actually asked our community what’s important to you, what’s impacting your life.”
– Monet Bacs, Strategic Director of The LIBRE Initiative- Arizona
