LIBRE Intensifies Warnings About the Threat of Socialism in America

Anti-Socialism

October 30, 2026

Arlington, VA — The LIBRE Initiative, the largest center-right Hispanic organization in the country, is intensifying its “Fight Socialism, Choose Freedom” campaign to warn Americans about the dangers of government control. People who lived under socialist regimes are at the heart of the effort, sharing firsthand accounts of the consequences of policies that restrict individual freedom.

The campaign combines an organic-first social media push with paid media support for LIBRE’s flagship podcast, Sabor a Freedom with national spokesperson, Judy Pino. Through compelling conversations and firsthand accounts, the podcast features prominent voices, including award-winning journalist Myrka Dellanos, nationally syndicated radio host Enrique Santos, Fidel Castro’s daughter Alina Fernández Revuelta, Venezuelan political commentator Franklin Camargo, former U.S. Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez, and more.

Many of the families LIBRE works with fled authoritarian governments in Venezuela, Cuba, and Nicaragua, leaving behind their homes, livelihoods, and freedoms. Their experiences inform LIBRE’s concerns about the growing appeal of socialism in the United States. The Democratic Socialists of America reports more than 120,000 members, more than double its October 2024 count. LIBRE is bringing these firsthand accounts into the national conversation to highlight the consequences of concentrated government power and the importance of individual freedom.

Judy Pino, host of the Sabor a Freedom podcast and LIBRE national spokesperson, issued the following statement:

“I was born in Cuba, and socialism and communism changed the course of my life and my family’s future for generations to come. Families were separated, lives were uprooted, and many of us had to start over in a new country. Every American Dream has a story, and for families like mine, that story began with the search for freedom. We don’t always learn from the experiences of others, but that’s why LIBRE is sharing these stories. My hope is that Americans can learn from what others have lived through without ever having to experience it themselves.”
