The LIBRE Initiative and Americans for Prosperity–Colorado brought together community members, families, and leaders on Thursday for a Hispanic Heritage Month celebration honoring LIBRE’s 15th anniversary and the American Dream.

Held at the Bison Ridge Recreation Center in Commerce City, the event featured food, music, and entertainment while creating an opportunity for members of the Hispanic community to come together and celebrate their culture, contributions, and aspirations.
Congressman Gabe Evans joined the celebration to speak with attendees about the issues that matter most to Colorado families, including the rising cost of living, energy costs, good-paying jobs, and expanding opportunities for families to build a better future.

Congressman Gabe Evans, issued the following statement:
“We have a responsibility to not just take care of your taxpayer dollars but to put money back into your pocket. That is why I am supporting policies that get government out of the way, streamline processes, cut fraud, waster and abuse, and get your tax dollars back to you. Government is meant to serve you, and we will work to advance policies that do that.”
Angel Merlos, Strategic Director for The LIBRE Initiative in Colorado, issued the following statement:
“Colorado’s Hispanic community is working hard every day to build a better life for themselves and their families, and that is what the American Dream is all about. As we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and LIBRE’s 15 years of empowering our community, we are reminded that our culture, our work ethic, and our commitment to opportunity are what make Colorado stronger. We will continue working to remove the barriers that stand in the way of families achieving their American Dream.”
Brittany Trujillo, AFP-CO Deputy State Director, issued the following statement:
“Congratulations to our sister organization, LIBRE, on its 15th anniversary, marking a decade and a half of empowering the Latino community across Colorado and the country. Last night was spent celebrating with community members and activists around a common goal – bringing the American Dream back into reach for hardworking Coloradans.”
The celebration comes as LIBRE continues its work across Colorado to engage Hispanic communities on the issues that impact their everyday lives and advance policies that expand freedom, opportunity, and prosperity.
