The LIBRE Initiative Supports Unleashing Pennsylvania’s Energy Abundance
(Harrisburg, PA) – Following Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro’s budget address, The LIBRE Initiative, Pennsylvania’s largest center-right Latino advocacy group, urged his office to keep energy costs low and reject tax increases.
Jennie Dallas, The LIBRE Initiative’s strategic director, issued the following statement:
“According to some estimates, around 14 percent of Pennsylvania small businesses are Latino-owned. Unfortunately, most of these small businesses are struggling with inflation, a high cost of living, and the uncertainty that they may see their energy costs increase.
We strongly urge Gov. Shapiro to resist calls to raise taxes or enjoin the commonwealth in carbon tax schemes that will increase energy costs for Pennsylvanians and small business owners.
Unleashing energy abundance with an “all of the above” approach and enacting pro-growth economic policies are the best ways to fight inflation and make life more affordable for Pennsylvanians suffering from today’s high cost of living.”
