Brad Schimel is the Clear Winner in Tonight’s Debate: The LIBRE Initiative – Wisconsin

¿No quieres impuestos más altos? No dejes que la TCJA expire

March 13, 2025

(Milwaukee, WI) – The LIBRE Initiative, Wisconsin’s largest center-right Latino advocacy group, issued a statement following the debate between Brad Schimel and Susan Crawford in the race for a seat in the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

LIBRE has endorsed Brad Schimel and is actively mobilizing Latinos in Wisconsin in this race. See the release here for complete details.

LIBRE’s strategic director, Anna Flores issued the following statement after the debate:

“Once again, Brad Schimel proved why he is the clear choice in this year’s Supreme Court election.

On the debate stage, Brad laid out a vision for a freer, safer, and more prosperous Wisconsin where all Wisconsinites thrive—including the Badger state’s Latino community.

As this election draws to a close, LIBRE will continue making the case to Wisconsin’s Latino community on why we need to elect Brad Schimel for our state’s Supreme Court.”

Background

The LIBRE Initiative recently published an op-ed explaining their support for Brad Schimel. The blog post reads in part:

In 2023, progressives won a majority on the Wisconsin Supreme Court for the first time in 15 years. And they immediately went to work — forcing the legislature to draw new legislative maps more favorable to progressives.

Most recently, the court began its assault on property rights, ruling that a sidewalk, despite its name, isn’t actually “a walk designated for the use of pedestrian travel.”

If the court is willing to redefine reality in that case, what will keep them from doing the same when considering important issues like educational freedom, right to work, prevailing wage, and the REINS Act?

A progressive Supreme Court prefers forced unionization as a condition of employment, threatens parental rights over their children’s education, and would empower an unelected bureaucracy to interfere in the market, crushing economic growth.

On April 1, Wisconsinites will vote for a new state Supreme Court justice. It’s vital that Wisconsin voters get this right.
