A race that could change Wisconsin — and how Latinos can make all the difference
March 6, 2025
In 2023, progressives won a majority on the Wisconsin Supreme Court for the first time in 15 years. And they immediately went to work — forcing the legislature to draw new legislative maps more favorable to progressives.
Most recently, the court began its assault on property rights, ruling that a sidewalk, despite its name, isn’t actually “a walk designated for the use of pedestrian travel.”
If the court is willing to redefine reality in that case, what will keep them from doing the same when considering important issues like educational freedom, right to work, prevailing wage, and the REINS Act?
A progressive Supreme Court prefers forced unionization as a condition of employment, threatens parental rights over their children’s education, and would empower an unelected bureaucracy to interfere in the market, crushing economic growth.
On April 1, Wisconsinites will vote for a new state Supreme Court justice. It’s vital that Wisconsin voters get this right.
That’s why The LIBRE Initiative is throwing its hat in the ring, endorsing Brad Schimel and mobilizing our unparalleled grassroots army to marshal the almost 450,000 Wisconsin Latinos to get Schimel elected to the bench.
In fact, this race is so important that not even the frigid Wisconsin winter can stop LIBRE from rallying Latinos for Schimel.

Freedom at risk: How this election could reshape the Badger State
These are just some of the things a progressive-dominated court could do if they keep control of the bench:
- Gut right-to-work laws: A court controlled by ideological justices could kill pro-worker freedom laws (like Act 10, for example) and force hardworking Americans to pay dues to rapacious union bosses if they want to keep their jobs, killing future investments and jobs in the state.
- Destroy educational freedom: Activist judges would be salivating to eliminate dozens of programs allowing thousands of families to choose the education best suited for their children.
- Empower the unelected bureaucracy: The court would target the REINS Act, giving unaccountable bureaucrats enormous power to impose overbearing regulations that destroy businesses and make Wisconsin less prosperous.
Moreover, the effects of this election could go far beyond Wisconsin.
Why? Because if progressives win the court, they’ll be in a perfect position to gerrymander the state’s congressional districts and change the balance of power in Washington, D.C.
After all, they’ve already caused state legislative maps to favor progressives.
If they did it once, they’ll do it again.
The stakes are high, and Wisconsinites need a candidate dedicated to the Constitution on the bench. Brad Schimel is the right man for the job.
Brad Schimel is ready from day one to restore confidence in the court.
Schimel has a long career as a public servant. He has a proven record of protecting communities, prosecuting violent criminals, and defending the rule of law and the constitutional rights of all Wisconsinites.
Brad Schimel’s previous experience as a district attorney, attorney general, and circuit court judge means he’s ready to serve on the bench from day one.
After two years of judicial activism from the state’s highest court, the people of Wisconsin need a judge who will restore trust in institutions and not impose an ideological agenda.
Brad Schimel is the man to do that.
LIBRE will get Schimel across the finish line.
Latinos in the Badger State could be decisive in electing Schimel to the Supreme Court. LIBRE’s deep roots within the Latino community make it uniquely positioned to mobilize Latinos to support Schimel.
And that’s exactly what LIBRE is doing.
Our grassroots army is meeting voters where they are, knocking on their doors to make sure they understand the importance of the election on April 1:
- Along with Americans for Prosperity, LIBRE has helped knock more than 200,000 doors, including in key parts of the state like Milwaukee, where almost 1 in 4 Wisconsin Latinos live.
And Schimel’s momentum is growing.
“Many individuals who hadn’t intended to vote are now recognizing the significance of this election for our state. While November was crucial for America, April 1 holds great importance for us,” said Anna Flores, strategic director for LIBRE-Wisconsin.
As Election Day nears, LIBRE is working extra hours to make sure the people of the Badger State know what’s at stake and why they should support Brad Schimel for a seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
