LIBRE takes your voice to the White House — Here’s why it matters

Washington D.C. is territorio LIBRE.
On Thursday, the President of The LIBRE Initiative, Daniel Garza, went to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, to visit with the President of the United States.
The agenda: Talk about the key issues that have a massive effect on the lives of all Americans.
The attendants: Key members of the Latino community advocating for freedom-oriented policies that’ll unleash American prosperity.
The goal: Push for policies that expand opportunity and freedom.
“We spoke about immigration, tax cuts, and a lot of domestic policy the president is going to be moving forward,” said Daniel after leaving the meeting.

The timing couldn’t have been more urgent.
Millions of Americans have suffered greatly after the disastrous economic policies of the previous administration, and most Latinos think the American Dream is unaffordable for them.
Now, just as Americans have started to recover from the last four years, there’s a new threat looming: The expiration of the 2017 Trump tax cuts.
KEEP TAXES DOWN AND PROSPERITY UP
If Congress doesn’t extend them, 60% of all Americans will pay more in taxes yearly — and hardworking Americans will bear the brunt of the cost.
A TAX HIKE WOULD HURT FAMILIES
The average American family will pay $1,500 more in taxes if Congress does nothing.
Here’s a breakdown of how families in states with high Latino populations would be affected if the Trump tax cuts expire:
- In the average family will pay up to $3,630 more in taxes every year
- In Texas, families will pay up to $2,870 more to Washington annually.
- In Florida, households will pay $3,505 more every year in taxes
- In Georgia, the average family will pay $2,580 more in taxes per year.

A TAX HIKE WOULD HARM SMALL BUSINESSES
The ripple effect of these hikes doesn’t stop at families. Small businesses, the backbone of America’s economy, stand to suffer dramatically if their taxes rise.
Latino small businesses, which are opened across the country, inevitably stand to lose if Washington decides to raise taxes on most Americans.
A tax hike would be disastrous for the economy and would leave millions of Americans worse off than they are today.
