LIBRE on the move: Fighting for you across the country

November 10, 2025

Latino families across America face real challenges every day—rising costs, limited educational options, and policies that threaten economic freedom.

At The LIBRE Initiative, we’re not standing idly by and letting bad policies and ideas get in the way of the prosperity of millions of Latinos like you.

We’re mobilizing our grassroots army across our thirteen-chapter states, educating fellow Americans, and partnering with key players to get things done.

From Arizona to Colorado to Michigan and New Jersey, we brought lawmakers, community leaders, and families together to talk about solutions to the issues that you care about.

Talking taxes and the economy with Congressman Juan Ciscomani

We hit the ground in Tucson with Congressman Juan Ciscomani to talk about what matters most to Latinos: the economy.

Congressman Ciscomani broke down the Working Families Tax Cut, putting $2,000 back in the pockets of Arizona families, and called for ending the government shutdown so Congress can tackle energy reform and pro-growth policies.

Our strategic director for Arizona, Monet Bacs summed it up:

“LIBRE is proud to bridge the gap between elected officials and the communities they serve.”

It’s all about the economy with Congressman Gabe Evans.

On October 24, LIBRE Initiative–Colorado partnered with Americans for Prosperity–Colorado for a town hall dinner in Northglenn. Special guest U.S. Congressman Gabe Evans joined us for an honest discussion about how policies coming out of Washington impact Colorado families and businesses.

The event, “Your Future, Your Finances,” had a very simple message: Whenever Washington gets in the way, everyday Americans get hurt, and we need policies that will open up opportunities so the American people can build a more prosperous future together.

As Angel Merlos, LIBRE-Colorado’s Strategic Director, put it:

“At LIBRE, we believe in empowering individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to build a better future for themselves and their families.”

Our solution: Support policies like the recently signed Working Families Tax Cut Act, which keeps more money in your pocket and gives you more freedom to build your American Dream

In Michigan, fighting for educational freedom for all

Just a few days later, in Grand Rapids, LIBRE hosted former U.S. Congressman Mike Rogers and local leaders to discuss why parents need more educational choices. Latino families know that one-size-fits-all doesn’t work.

And this isn’t the first time former Congressman Rogers and LIBRE joined forces in favor of educational freedom; last year, he also joined a school choice event with over 300 Latinos from the Grand Rapids area.

By pushing for student-centered reforms, we’re fighting to make sure every child—regardless of ZIP code— has the education they deserve.

Ricardo Castro, LIBRE’s state strategic director, summed it up perfectly:

“Families across Michigan want access to quality education options that meet their children’s unique needs. By focusing on student-centered reforms, we can ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed.”

Our solution: champion Education Savings Accounts (ESAs) and other school choice programs that empower families to take charge of their education. We’ve helped pass ESA legislation in states like Georgia and North Carolina and are mobilizing for similar reforms nationwide.

Defending Freedom in New Jersey

And in Jersey City, we tackled a big issue, one that hits close to home to many Latinos in America: the dangers of socialism.

There are many Americans today who no longer believe the American Dream is attainable and think that socialism is the way forward. But we know very well that’s not true.

Our panel reminded us that when the government grows, opportunity shrinks. Juan Martinez didn’t mince words:

“Time and again, socialism has failed to deliver on its promises—robbing Americans of their potential and stifling prosperity.”

Our solution: We must rekindle the American Dream by supporting policies that break down the barriers keeping millions of Americans from reaching their full potential.

Why It Matters

These events are just a small glimpse of what we do every day: We’re mobilizing across all of our 13 state chapters, fighting for policies that will unleash prosperity for all Americans.

We know that life isn’t easy for many Americans right now. Costs are rising, choices feel limited, and sometimes it seems like opportunities are slipping away.

That’s why we’re here. We’re ready to fight for policies that give you more control over your future, more freedom to choose what’s best for your kids, and more chances to build the life you want.
