Venezuelan Protesters Face Brutal Repression
(Washington, D.C.) - Venezuela is being wracked by protests against the Maduro regime, in the wake of what has been widely reported as a "sham election," scheduled by the Maduro government as an attempt to hold on to power in the face of widespread popular opposition. According to press reports, many Venezuelan protesters have been killed by government forces.
Daniel Garza, President of The LIBRE Initiative, released the following statement:
"Many thousands of protesters in Venezuela are dealing with brutal repression at the hands of a regime dedicated to keeping power at all costs, against the will of the people. We stand with those who are standing up for freedom and democracy."
