Monica Rodriguez was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley. Her father, Genaro Rodriguez Sr. was an immigrate from Mexico that truly achieved the “American Dream” through hard work as a truck driver. Her mother, Esther Franz Rodriguez, was a woman ahead of the times. Esther dedicated her life to politics to improve life in the small town of Hidalgo, TX. Monica remembers many long hot days of her childhood while traveling in the back of her mom’s Chevy Caprice for hours knocking on doors and campaigning. Her first political training was phone banking at the age of 12 for presidential ticket Reagan/Bush in 1984 in a small town. These childhood experiences and her love for this Country contribute to her passion for serving the McAllen-area as a Grassroots Engagement Director.
Monica is very active in her church as an ordained minister. She broadcast a weekly radio program for the Spanish speaking community throughout US and Central America. She dedicates herself to studying the Word and impart the Good News whenever possible. She is also an active member in her community as the current President of the McAllen Rotary Club. She serves her community with humility and energy.
Monica Rodriguez graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland University College and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. She is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree of Divinity from Stark Bible College and Seminary, Corpus Christi. She loves to hike and travel with her two pets, Shadow and Alegria.
