Andrew E. Johnson

Director of Marketing Strategy

Andrew Johnson is the Director of Marketing Strategy at The LIBRE Initiative, where he focuses on audience insights, messaging strategy, and developing narratives that connect complex policy and economic ideas to the communities LIBRE serves.

Prior to joining LIBRE, Andrew built a career spanning MarComms, government, and strategy in Washington, DC and New York. He served as Director of Communications on Capitol Hill for Congressman Erik Paulsen and later as a Content Director at a DC-based advocacy firm, where he advised government agencies, corporations, nonprofits, universities, and mission-driven organizations on messaging and narrative strategy. Earlier in his career, he worked as a blogger and reporter for National Review. Across roles, his work has centered on distilling complex ideas into clear, accessible narratives and ideas that resonate with broad audiences.

Andrew earned his MBA from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business, where he was involved in the Management as a Calling program, and holds a BA in Journalism from the University of Minnesota.

Outside of work, Andrew enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters and staying connected with his extended family in Guatemala. He has grown up in Iowa, California, and the DC area.
