Mechanicsburg, PA— The LIBRE Initiative, the largest center-right Latino organization in Pennsylvania, hosted its Capitol Connect event on Friday, September 4, at The Willows at Ashcombe Mansion, featuring Congressman Scott Perry (PA-10). The gathering convened Pennsylvania community leaders and Hispanic families for a candid conversation on the policy issues most affecting the Commonwealth. The evening also celebrated LIBRE’s 15th anniversary as an organization, with the program fittingly weaving in Quinceañeratraditions.

Congressman Perry took part in a moderated discussion on community priorities, hearing directly from Hispanic families about the economic pressures they’re navigating. Those pressures are reinforced by 2026 LIBRE Institute polling, which found the economy is the #1 issue facing Hispanic voters nationwide.
At the same time, Congressman Perry acknowledged that Pennsylvania’s Latino community remains a powerful engine of the state’s economy. More than 1.3 million Latinos call the Commonwealth home, and the GDP of Pennsylvania Latinos is projected to grow by more than 75% between 2023 and 2030 — one of the fastest rates in the nation. That growth makes direct dialogue between elected officials and the Latino community more important than ever.

Jennie Dallas, Pennsylvania Strategic Director for The LIBRE Initiative, issued the following statement:
“LIBRE prides itself on connecting Pennsylvania’s Hispanic families with the lawmakers making decisions that impact their lives. Across the Commonwealth, those families are working harder than ever to get ahead, only to be held back by rising costs, an uncertain economy, and too few options in their kids’ education. But even as Pennsylvania Hispanics facechallenges, we’re building businesses and driving the state’s economic future. We’re grateful to Congressman Scott Perry for joining us at Capitol Connect and for his commitment to expanding opportunity and freedom for all Pennsylvanians, including the Commonwealth’s growing Latino community.”
