LIBRE Commends Speaker Johnson for Restoring Fiscal Responsibility to Emergency Budgeting with Israel Plan

The LIBRE Initiatives’ President Daniel Garza made the following statement:

“With inflation now soaring beyond 17% under President Biden’s watch, reckless government spending is one of the top concerns for the Latino community and many feel we are going in the wrong direction. We commend Speaker Johnson for proposing a fiscally responsible path to provide aid to our friend and partner Israel. 

The House’s plan to send crucial aid to Israel by offsetting some of the $80 billion windfall that President Biden handed the IRS last year, much of which is used to over audit minority and low-income families, shows the kind of fiscal discipline that Americans expect. These proposed offsets show that Congress can stand with our friends without worsening the high cost of living that families are facing here at home.”
