ICYMI: The LIBRE Initiative Celebrated Hispanic Heritage  Month in Holland with Capitol Connect

HOLLAND, MI — The LIBRE Initiative celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month in Holland with a Capitol Connect event bringing together Hispanic families, community members, and local leaders for an evening of conversation, connection, and celebration.

The event highlighted the contributions of Holland’s Hispanic community and provided an opportunity for families to engage directly with their state representative on issues impacting their community.

State Representative Nancy DeBoer, who represents Michigan’s 86th House District and the greater Holland area, joined the event for a conversation with attendees.

Ricardo Castro, Michigan’s Strategic Directors at the LIBRE Initiative:

“Hispanic Heritage Month is an important opportunity to celebrate the culture, contributions, and growing presence of Hispanic families in West Michigan. Events like Capitol Connect create meaningful opportunities for our community to come together, build relationships, and make sure families have a voice in the conversations that affect their future.” 

The event was part of LIBRE’s ongoing efforts to create opportunities for Hispanic families and community members to connect with local leaders and participate in conversations about the issues shaping their communities.
