CO Taxpayers Overwhelmingly Support TABOR Refunds

Today, the Colorado chapter of The LIBRE Initiative, issued a statement reiterating its support for the Colorado Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights (TABOR) – a state constitutional amendment that helps keep state spending in check by allowing voters the opportunity to approve any proposed tax increases.

As part of their efforts to support TABOR, The LIBRE Initiative will send out house mailers to educate Coloradans – including Colorado’s Latino community — on why Colorado taxpayers:

• overwhelmingly support TABOR refunds
• oppose any attempts to take away TABOR refunds

Angel Merlos, Strategic Director for The LIBRE Initiative, issued the following statement:

“With the clock ticking, it’s vital that state lawmakers act to ensure that Colorado taxpayers receive their TABOR refund checks as quickly as possible. We do not want politicians to play games by delaying, reducing, or diverting our TABOR refunds.

TABOR is about demanding transparency, accountability and fiscal responsibility and LIBRE has plans to educate the Latino community about why we must defend this critical state constitutional amendment.

The success of our state depends on protecting TABOR for future generations.”
