Washington es Territorio LIBRE and we took your voices to the capital.

July 24, 2025

The LIBRE Initiative shook Washington, D.C.!

Last week, activists from all 13 of our chapters landed in Washington, D.C., and brought the power of the grassroots to Capitol Hill and the White House.

The goal was to keep the momentum going after the passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill and push for more freedom-oriented policies that will help millions of Latinos across America thrive.

In just a few days, we:

  • Met with over 220 congressional offices representing 46 states and three U.S. territories, and over 40 members of Congress
  • Attended a White House briefing on the key Latino priorities from this administration
  • Delivered a message loud and clear: Advance freedom-oriented policies and bring prosperity to all Americans

Latinos are undergoing a historic political shift, and we’re making sure Washington knows it.

They want freedom-oriented policy solutions that will make life more affordable and solve the problems of the Latino community.

And that’s what we did last week: We made sure Washington heard your voice!

First stop: The White House

LIBRE kicked off our week in Washington, D.C., at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

The Trump administration invited the LIBRE team to a briefing on how the One Big Beautiful Bill will bring much-needed tax relief and help millions of Americans and Latino families across the country.

Here’s a video from Jorge Martinez, our Texas strategic director, talking about the briefing.

LIBRE worked hard to get the One Big Beautiful Bill signed into law because it will bring immense benefits to millions of Latino families across the country.

How so?

  • It makes the 2017 Trump tax cuts permanent, saving the average American family $1,500.
  • Gives millions of Americans access to health savings accounts, putting patients in the driver’s seat of their health care.
  • Provides historic funding to secure the border, support the (majority Latino) Border Patrol, and even hire up to 100 new judges to help review immigration cases.
  • Will make energy more affordable by cutting red tape and unleashing American energy.

Next stop: Congress

From the White House, LIBRE went to Capitol Hill, talking with over 220 congressional offices representing 46 states and three U.S. territories.

LIBRE made your voice heard in both chambers of Congress.

LIBRE met with key lawmakers like Rep. David Valadao (CA-21), Rep. Young Kim (CA-40), Rep. Rich McCormick (GA-07), Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11), Rep. Bob Latta (OH-05), and Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (PA-07) to discuss policies that will lower costs and improve health care access like the SPEAK and CONNECT acts.

LIBRE also talked with Sens. Ashley Moody, Rick Scott, and John Cornyn, where we zeroed in on policies that will fuel the economy by cutting red tape like the REINS Act, and policies that will secure the border like the Border Workforce Improvement Act.

The work continues.

In D.C., LIBRE made your voice impossible to ignore. We met with key lawmakers and staff, pushed policies important to you, and made it clear that Latino communities demand real solutions, not empty promises.

Now it’s time to build on that momentum.
