America’s future depends on us

On January 29, LIBRE joined Americans for Prosperity and Concerned Veterans for America in Philadelphia to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary and do a live recording of the “Ruthless” podcast.

We stood just a few yards away from the very place where the founders made the bold choice to break away from England and form a country based on liberty.

As we were there, there was also a big question looming: Who is going to protect the American Dream for years to come?

The answer was clear: It’s up to us, the American people.

And when it comes to Latinos, many already understand what is at stake. For America to thrive, the spirit of freedom must stay alive.

That’s what our executive director, Sandra Benitez, said during the podcast.

Freedom and Latinos, an inseparable duo

Latinos know that without freedom, there’s no prosperity.  

This shouldn’t come as a surprise. Latino families understand this. Many came here for a fair shot and a chance to build their American Dream.

You see these stories everywhere in our communities.

Whether it’s a grandmother leaving her home country looking for freedom here in America, or a young single mother working long hours to give her children a better life.

They are also stories of courage, sacrifice, and determination.

A legacy worth protecting

That’s the same spirit that made America in the first place.

In Philly, nearly 250 years ago, ordinary people made an extraordinary choice. They pushed back against an overreaching government and claimed their God-given right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Those ideas became the foundation of the United States. They allowed people to take risks, build businesses, raise families, and create opportunity not just for themselves, but for generations that followed.

Today, Latinos are proudly defending the same ideas and values that the founders espoused in Constitution Hall in 1776. 

Now it’s our turn

For nearly 250 years, Americans have zealously defended the very freedom we earned in 1776. They didn’t take these freedoms for granted; each generation protected them and passed them on.

Now it’s our turn to do the same.

That is why LIBRE launched our campaign, “Un Pasito con LIBRE,” to defend the freedoms and values that have made America prosperous. We’re taking one small step — un pasito — so the next generation has even more opportunity than the last.
