Latinos Revolt Against Bidenomics: Poll Shows Desire for More Freedom

Bidenomics isn’t fooling anyone in the Latino community. A recent Libre Institute-Public Opinion Strategies poll reveals that Hispanics disapprove of President Joe Biden’s handling of the economy, feel pessimistic about the country’s direction, and crave more economic freedom. 

The poll confirms the president’s popularity among Hispanics is melting faster than ice cream on a sizzling summer day. Latinos nationwide are in open revolt against Biden’s economic policies.  

This unique survey, which polled Hispanics in 15 states, confirms a decisive turn against Biden’s top-down economy and how Latinos are open to the ideas of economic freedom—the very ideas that made America a land of opportunity. 

Politicians who ignore Latino opinions do so at their peril. According to Pew Research Center, 36.2 million Latinos are eligible to vote this year, almost 15% of all eligible voters, and this number is expected to rise in future elections. 

Biden’s Popularity Melts Under Latino Scrutiny 

The most recent poll indicates that Biden’s unpopularity with Latinos has worsened since last year. This disapproval cuts across geographical, educational, political, gender, and generational lines. 

Here are some key numbers: 

• 59% of Latinos disapprove of Biden’s job as president, a 6-point increase since 2023. 

• 69% of Hispanic Independents disapprove of Biden. 

• 64% of 18-34-year-old Latinos are unhappy with Biden’s performance—an eight-point increase since last year. 

• Biden is unpopular among Latinos in Florida, California, and Texas. 

• Latinos with and without college degrees disapprove of Biden’s job as president.

Inflation and the Economy: Top Concern for Latinos 

“It’s the economy, stupid” remains a timeless truth in American politics. Our poll shows that for Latinos, it’s all about the economy. A whopping 75% of Hispanics list inflation or the economy as their top concern. They feel the American dream is becoming an unaffordable reality and feel the pinch of high prices in their wallets. 

Here’s what our poll reveals: 

• 76% of Hispanics think the economy is in a fair or poor state, with only 24% viewing it as good or excellent.
  
  • Almost half of all Latino voters think they are worse off today than they were four years ago. 
  • 85% say inflation has affected them negatively, and 75% find it hard to get a good-paying job. 
  • 88% think the American Dream is harder to achieve now than before. 

  It’s no wonder that 72% of Hispanics think the country is heading in the wrong direction. It’s clear why Latinos aren’t enthusiastic about Biden. 

  The American Dream: what does it mean for Latinos 

  Hispanics might be skeptical of Biden and Bidenomics but believe in America and its potential. According to our poll, 71% of Latinos believe in the American Dream, with 42% holding this belief firmly. 

  The American Dream means different things to different people. Latinos spoke of freedom, financial security, home ownership, family, and good-paying jobs when asked to define it. 

  Latinos believe in America and want to enjoy the freedoms that only exist here—freedoms envied worldwide. 

   For years, Latinos have been discounted, taken for granted, and told what to believe. That time has ended; Latinos are making their voices heard. It’s time for our elected officials to start listening.
