The LIBRE Initiative and sister organization Americans for Prosperity-Colorado (AFP-CO) today announced their endorsement of Rep. Carlos Barron, Rep. Dan Woo, and Jill Haffley for the Colorado State House of Representatives.

As part of AFP’s work with communities across Colorado and LIBRE’s work within Hispanic communities, both organizations continue to focus on issues that matter to families, including the cost of living, energy, healthcare, entrepreneurship, and removing barriers to economic opportunity.

AFP-CO, part of the nation’s largest grassroots organization, and The LIBRE Initiative, the nation’s largest center-right Hispanic grassroots organization, plan to deploy a mix of voter-contact efforts—including grassroots outreach, direct mail, and digital advertising—in support of Barron, Woog, and Haffley.

Angel Merlos, Strategic Director for The LIBRE Initiative, issued the following statement:

“The LIBRE Initiative is proud to endorse Rep.Carlos Barron for HD 48, Representative Dan Woog for HD 19, and Jill Haffley for HD16. Each has demonstrated a commitment of policies that expand economic opportunity, lower cost, and remove barriers for Colorado families, workers, and small businesses, all top priorities that matter to Latino communities across Colorado.

Woog and Barron understand firsthand the challenges facing small businesses and have supported policies that promote entrepreneurship and economic opportunity. Woog has focused on lowering costs including housing, energy, and taxes. Barron and Woog have worked on energy and supported expanding the Colorado Cottage Foods Act known as the Tamale Act, a bill that LIBRE supported because it removed barriers for Coloradans and helping Latino entrepreneurs and growing small businesses.

Haffley has dedicated decades to serving Colorado families as Teacher for 30 years and now is running with a focus on affordability, education, and healthcare – issues that directly impact Latino families and help build a better future.

LIBRE is proud to support these leaders and will continue working with Latinos across Colorado to advance policies that help families work, build, and achieve their small business and American dream.”

Brittany Trujillo, Deputy State Director of AFP-CO, issued the following statement:

“Colorado families deserve leaders who understand the pressure of rising costs and will fight to make our state a more affordable place to live, work, and raise a family. Carlos Barron, Dan Woog, and Jill Haffley earned AFP Colorado’s endorsement through their commitment to lower taxes, greater economic opportunity, and policies that help families and small businesses thrive. We are proud to support these candidates and mobilize our grassroots network to help elect leaders who will protect taxpayers and put opportunity within reach for more Coloradans.”
