ARLINGTON, VA — The LIBRE Initiative today announced a new partnership with Emmy Award-winning journalist, television host, author Myrka Dellanos to amplify the organization’s mission of empowering the Hispanic community and advancing policy solutions that expand freedom and opportunity for Latino families across the country.
Dellanos, one of the most recognizable hosts in Spanish-language media, is best known for co-hosting Univision’s flagship news program Primer Impacto for more than a decade, building a devoted following that spans generations of Hispanic households. She brings a combined social media audience of over 2 million followers across Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, making her one of the most influential Hispanic voices in both traditional and digital media today.
Through this partnership, Dellanos will work alongside The LIBRE Initiative in a variety of capacities — including community events, media interviews, social media campaigns, and special initiatives — lending her voice, credibility, and platform to causes that directly impact the Latino community. Among the first major initiatives will be LIBRE’s America 250th Anniversary campaign, Soy LIBRE, which celebrates Hispanic contributions to the American story and connects the founding ideals of freedom and opportunity to the lives of Latino families today.
“Myrka Dellanos is one of the most known voices in the Hispanic community — and that trust has been earned over decades of authentic, dedicated storytelling,” said Israel Ortega, Director of Partnerships for The LIBRE Initiative. “She understands the values, the struggles, and the aspirations of Latino families. We could not be prouder to have her alongside us as we work to elevate the Hispanic community’s voice on the issues that matter most.”
Dellanos, an American of Cuban descent, is a journalist who was appointed by President George W. Bush as a member of the Freedom Corps and served as host of Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations at the White House, brings not only a celebrated media career but a lifetime of civic and humanitarian commitment that aligns deeply with LIBRE’s mission.
“The Hispanic community is at the heart of the American story — and that story is still being written,” said Myrka Dellanos. “The LIBRE Initiative is doing critical work to make sure Latino families have the freedom, the resources, and the opportunities they need to build the life they deserve. I am honored to join this effort and use my platform in the service of a community that means everything to me.”
The partnership will span English and Spanish-language platforms, community activations, media appearances, and digital content — ensuring that LIBRE’s message reaches Latino families where they are, in the language they prefer, and through a messenger they already trust.
