Millions of Latinos. One message: ¡Quiero ser LIBRE!

A father works from sunrise to sundown. A young woman studies all night to get into college and jumpstart her career. A mother wakes up early to help her kids get to school before she has to go to work.

Those are the day-to-day stories of millions of Latinos across America.

They all have different goals, professions, and passions, but they share the same dream: They want to be free, quieren ser libres, and build their American Dream.

That’s why The LIBRE Initiative was founded 14 years ago; we know Latinos are driven, freedom-loving, and dedicated to giving back to their communities. We want to mobilize Latinos across America around policies that will protect and expand America’s liberties.

And that’s the goal of our new campaign, “Quiero ser LIBRE,” a $1.8 million cross-channel investment of digital, television, and radio ads nationally and in key Latino markets like Miami, Orlando, and Tampa.  

This campaign is a bold effort to inspire and mobilize Latinos to defend the freedoms that define America.

The tune of freedom

However, to build a successful movement, you need more than a slogan. You need a soundtrack.  

In 1776, the Continental Army sang “Yankee Doodle” as they surprised the world and defeated the British Empire.

At LIBRE, we launched our own anthem, a song that will energize the thousands of Latinos in our grassroots army who are ready to defend freedom across America: “¡Quiero ser LIBRE!”

Our song puts into words the hard work and drive of the Latino community.

Latinos are workers, business owners, parents, grandparents, and young students. They are committed to creating a better life for themselves and wholeheartedly believe in the tried-and-true American Dream.

Freedom and the American Dream

For many Latinos, America is the land that gave them and their families the freedom and opportunities to build a prosperous life, one that was impossible anywhere else in the world.

Take Daniel Garza, LIBRE’s founder and president, for example. A son of immigrant farmers who, after years of hard work and perseverance, was given the opportunity to serve the president of the United States in the White House and started the largest and most impactful Latino grassroots organization founded on the American principles of freedom.

Like him, millions of Latinos are building their American Dream today and are committed to defending the freedoms that make American prosperity possible.

These stories reflect the spirit of millions. That’s why we’re fighting for real policy change that opens more doors and unlocks opportunities for hardworking Americans.
