Jose Mallea has more than 15 years of political and public policy experience. He began his involvement in Politics and Government in 1996 as Youth Coordinator for the Bob Dole for President Campaign in Miami-Dade County. In 1998 he served as Regional Field Director in support of the Jeb Bush for Governor Campaign in Florida and later served as Deputy Political Director for Florida Victory 2000 for the George W. Bush Presidential campaign.


Mallea served as a Presidential Appointee for the Administration of George W. Bush from 2001- 2005; at the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) 2001-2002 serving as Special Assistant to SBA Administrator Hector V. Barreto and later as Special Assistant and Personal Aide to White House Chief of Staff Andrew H. Card, Jr. at the White House.


Following his tenure at the White House, Mallea joined the U.S. Department of State as a Senior Advisor in the Office of Commercial and Business Affairs and was responsible for the Near Eastern Affairs Region, working with U.S. companies doing business there.


In 2004 Mallea received a Superior Honor Award from the U.S. Department of State for his work as part of the Economic Bureau’s Iraq Reconstruction Task Force. He continued his service in the Department of State as Associate Director in the Office of White House Liaison until February of 2005. Following his tenure in Washington, D.C., he returned to Miami, Florida where he served as Chief of Staff to then Mayor of the City of Miami Manny Diaz, from February 2005 to January 2007.


Shortly thereafter, Mallea founded his own firm, JM Global Consulting. In 2010, he joined the Marco Rubio for U.S. Senate Campaign where he served as Campaign Manager. The campaign resulted in a 19 point come-from-behind victory in a highly contested 3-way race. Politico Magazine rated it the No. 1 best executed campaign of the 2010 election cycle.
