LIBRE: ESA Bill Signed into Law is a Boon for the Hispanic Community

Education Saving Accounts Will Expand Educational Freedom in Florida

(Miami, FL) –  The LIBRE Initiative, an organization committed to empowering the Hispanic community, issued a statement in support praising Gov. Ron DeSantis for signing into law HB1 – legislation that will universally expand Education Savings Accounts (ESAs) for Florida families.

The LIBRE Initiative has a strong track record supporting educational freedom because students are better able to thrive, learn and become lifelong learners.  Polling shows that the Latino community strongly supports educational freedom.

Juan M. Martinez, deputy director of grassroots operations, issued the following statement:

“This is a great week for Latino Florida families – and all Florida families  – because ESAs mean that parents will have a greater say in customizing their child’s education. On behalf of our activists and volunteers all across the Sunshine State, we commend Gov. Ron DeSantis and every lawmaker who supported HB1.

Now more than ever we need to trust parents to make decisions for their children and create an education plan that works for each individual child. We look forward to continue educating the Latino community about ESAs and educational freedom policies.
