LIBRE Commemorates Martin Luther King Jr. Day

(Washington D.C.) – The LIBRE Initiative (LIBRE), a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that provides the Hispanic community the tools to prosper in the United States commemorates Martin Luther King Jr. Day today.

Daniel Garza, Executive Director of The LIBRE Initiative released the following statement:

"Today, millions of Americans continue to be inspired by the words Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. articulated so many years ago on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial 'a dream deeply rooted in the American Dream…even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow…we will judged not by the color of our skin, but by the content of our character.'  We at Libre are deeply committed to carry on the effort to share the dream because we strongly believe Dr. King's words still ring true today.

Still, high unemployment and poverty rates worsened by a sluggish economy have caused a lot of pain and placed Hispanics at a major disadvantage while hindering their ability to reach their own American Dream. Washington must return to the tried and true principles of economic freedom in order to reverse our current stagnation and unleash a new wave of economic growth that allows more individuals to achieve their personal aspirations, attain earned prosperity, and improve their well being."
