Vo(i)ces Latinas: A New Radio Show

Vo(i)ces Latinas: A New Radio Show

LIBRE’s Youth Project Manager Brittney Morrett is launching a new radio show this Saturday, July 20th! The show, Vo(i)ces Latinas will feature content for the Latino community in English, Spanish, and of course – Spanglish!

On the site, Brittney writes, “As Latinos in the United States, we embrace our heritage while being fully American. We dance bachata but also listen to country music; fry up pastelillos de carne but order in pad thai delivery; we write our term papers in English and catch the nightly news in Spanish.” Thus, Vo(i)ces was created to fill the void of radio programming for young Latinos on topics ranging from culture to politics.

In this week’s show Brittney and her guests plan on discussing Celia Cruz’s influence on music, whether or not you can live on a McDonald’s minumum wage job, and immigration reform.
