The LIBRE Initiative Announces Support for Jovita Carranza as U.S. Small Business Administrator

Arlington, VA – This week, the United States Senate is expected to vote on the nomination of Jovita Carranza for the position of U.S. Small Business Administrator.

Daniel Garza, President of The LIBRE Initiative, released the following statement.

“As someone who worked her way from being a part-time, night-shift box handler at the United Parcel Service (UPS) to eventually serving as its president of Latin American and Caribbean operations, U.S. Treasurer Jovita Carranza is uniquely qualified to lead the U.S. Small Business Administration – a critical agency charged with helping American small businesses expand and grow.”

Garza added:

“Treasurer Carranza understands the challenges facing American small business owners – the backbone of our economy. Her nomination comes at a time when our economy is growing, the Latino unemployment rate is at a historic low, and Latinos are starting businesses at a record pace.

The U.S. Senate should approve her nomination without delay.”
