Tax Reform Guidelines Set a Hopeful Path for Tax Reform Debate

(Washington, D.C.) – Yesterday, leaders in the House and Senate, as well as Treasury Secretary Mnuchin and National Economic Council Director Cohn, released a joint statement regarding tax reform. According to the statement, any debate on border adjustability will be set aside in the effort to advance a positive, pro-growth tax package.

Daniel Garza, President of The LIBRE Initiative, released the following statement:

“The decision by leaders in Congress and the White House to set aside the controversial and economically-damaging Border Adjustment Tax is the right one. There is no question that all Americans – including the Hispanic community – stand to benefit from reforms that simplify our tax code and reduce the burden on workers and small businesses. If leaders in Washington work together on tax simplification that reduces the burden on entrepreneurs, workers, and families, there is no question that our economy will be stronger and our people will be more prosperous. We look forward to continuing to work with Congress and the administration to deliver on tax reform that finally works for all Americans.”
