Supreme Court DACA Decision Shows Need for Action by Congress

(Arlington, VA) – Today the Supreme Court declined to hear a challenge regarding the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA) during this session.

Daniel Garza, President of The LIBRE Initiative, released the following statement:

“The decision by the Supreme Court to not take up the DACA case at this time means it’s more important than ever that Congress address it. Without Congressional action, thousands of young people are unable to plan their lives and unable to contribute fully to their communities and nation. American families, businesses, churches, schools, and others count today on the contribution of people whose legal status is in question in the days and weeks ahead. This serves no one’s interest. Instead of hoping that someone else will solve the problem, it’s time for Congress to address this critical immigration challenge. By acting now on Dreamers and border security, we can address these important priorities and reopen the government.”
