Stronger U.S. Campaign Targets Lawmakers for Deal on Immigration

Stronger U.S. Campaign Targets Lawmakers for Deal on Immigration

Campaign polling shows voter support; Groups look to spend up to a million for initial push

Arlington, VA – Today, The LIBRE Initiative and Americans for Prosperity launched a comprehensive, initial campaign calling on lawmakers to start working toward an immigration solution that addresses pressing issues facing the Country today: security at our border, the uncertainty for our Dreamers, and the economic and workforce situation in our agricultural industry.

The Stronger U.S. campaign will launch across the country with digital ads, events, and mailers calling on Senators to work in earnest on solutions which hold overwhelming support.

The Stronger US campaign is releasing a poll showing stronger support (78%) for this deal that pairs the three priorities (border, Dreamers, agriculture). Poll highlights below.

Jorge Lima, senior vice president for policy for Americans for Prosperity, issued the following statement:

“Congress has a real opportunity to come together and drive solutions to address real issues facing the American public.  All across the country and the political spectrum, people are eager to see Congress address the security issues at our border, they are ready to end the uncertainty that Dreamers have faced for 20 years, and they need to see relief on the supply and workforce issues holding back our economy.  Rather than continuing to use immigration as a wedge issue, we urge lawmakers to roll up their sleeves and drive solutions that both tackle these issues and have broad public support.  But Congress must do the work to get this done. That is why we are devoting resources and marshalling our activists across the nation to get contact their elected officials, share their support and urgency, and drive decisive action on these solutions without delay.”

Daniel Garza, founder and president of The LIBRE Initiative, issued the following statement:

“Politicians in Washington are failing their constituents. Practical immigration fixes would give us a stronger economy, a stronger border, and a stronger America. An overwhelming number of Americans agree, but Congress cares more about fighting than solving problems. Our call is simple: start by pairing reforms that have broad support and let’s start reforming our outdated immigration systems.”
