(Washington, D.C.) –  Today the LIBRE Initiative (LIBRE), a nonpartisan, nonprofit national grassroots organization, today announced the start of a series of online ads calling attention to Members of Congress who have voted to increase government spending and debt, and calling on them to change course. The bilingual campaign will appear in Colorado, North Carolina, Florida's 26th Congressional District, Texas's 23rd Congressional District, and the 1st and 2nd Congressional districts in Arizona. The ads register the concerns that LIBRE has heard from Latinos regarding the lack of spending discipline in Washington and encourage constituents to tell their elected officials to reduce spending during the upcoming December budget debate.

Daniel Garza, Executive Director of The LIBRE Initiative released the following statement:

"Latinos understand that one reason for the ongoing weak economic recovery is the failure of Washington to rein in out of control spending. While leaders claim credit for falling deficits, our national debt continues to increase every year – and it will grow even more quickly in the years ahead. And while Washington refuses to address this spending addiction, the private sector continues to sputter – hurting both employers and employees alike.

LIBRE has heard from Latinos across the country who want a change in course. They want leaders in Washington to listen, and to do something about it. With this latest series of ads, LIBRE is encouraging constituents to call their Congressmen and Senators and demand change."
