ICYMI: The LIBRE Initiative’s Mission is Highlighted on PBS’s Newshour

(Washington, D.C.) – Daniel Garza, Executive Director of The LIBRE Initiative, offered insight into the group’s mission within the Hispanic community for a report on PBS’s Newshour.

We are driving a conversation within the Latino community about the virtues of the free market whether it’s… engaging them in policy issues or on cultural issues. So, for example, we believe strongly on self-reliance and personal responsibility, and that hard-work ethic.

***
We use that opportunity [community events] as a platform for ourselves to drive our ideas, to talk to folks, to connect with them, and then if it resonates with them, then they join our efforts and they stay connected with us.

***
When you’re going out directly to them and telling them your message; then you’re earning their trust and their respect because you’re connecting with them and they matter. That’s what voters need to feel.

***
Our objective is to get Latinos behind free market ideas, the principles of limited government. That’s our objective. Whatever happens politically, we can’t control that… we can just help drive a conversation within the Latino community.
