(Washington, D.C.) – Today, The LIBRE Initiative welcomed David Velazquez as the organization’s new Executive Director. David has until recently served as Deputy State Director in Florida, helping to lead the efforts of The LIBRE Initiative in that state. David has been a part of The LIBRE Initiative team since 2013, and now replaces Jorge Lima, who has served as Executive Director of the organization since 2016.
Daniel Garza, President of The LIBRE Initiative, released the following statement:
“I’m pleased to welcome David as the new Executive Director of The LIBRE Initiative. He has done great work with our team in Florida, and he’s going to be a great leader for the organization across our team nationwide. I also want to thank Jorge Lima for the tremendous contribution he has made to the organization over the last 5 years – and in particular his leadership as Executive Director.”
