The dangerous Marketplace Fairness Act (MFA)

MEDIA CONTACT: Judy Pino, 202-578-6424 Daniel Garza, Executive Director of The LIBRE Initiative released the following statement: (Washington, DC) – “Far from encouraging economic development and job growth, the passing of the MFA in the Senate sets a dangerous precedent that allows expansion of state government power and hinders the free flow of interstate commerce. LIBRE vehemently opposes any policies that undercut the efficiency and productivity of the free market. We call upon members of the House of Representatives to oppose MFA, which supports the erosion of the physical nexus requirement by states seeking to impose taxes on businesses without a substantial presence within their borders.”
