Coalition Letter and Press Call in Support of Legislation on Dreamers, Security

(Washington, D.C.) – Today, The LIBRE Initiative released a coalition letter to the bipartisan leadership of the House and Senate, expressing support for prompt legislative action to provide certainty for the Dreamers and enhanced security for our country. Twenty Chambers of Commerce and other local and regional Hispanic organizations that promote economic growth joined in this call for permanent legal status for the Dreamers. The joint letter highlights the urgency for a permanent legislative solution, as well as the potential negative long-term economic impact of temporary solutions and reductions in legal immigration levels – which some in Congress have called for. The signers call on leaders in Congress to “work on a permanent solution – now.”

President of The LIBRE Initiative, Daniel Garza, will join several other signers of this joint letter on a press call today.
