Immigration Advocates to Speak at PresserWashington D.C. – On Wednesday, April 27th, a group of faith and advocacy organizations will be hosting a press conference calling on members of Congress to work together toward legislative solutions that address border security, Dreamers, and the agricultural workforce. The press conference coincides with congressional meetings taking place as part of the National Catholic Council for Hispanic Ministry’s (NCCHM) Raíces y Alas Congress.

Background:
These groups have long united toward practical reforms to our broken immigration system that:
- Tackle issues facing our border and strengthen our nation’s ability to manage the border in a secure, orderly and humane manner;
- Address the uncertainty that dominates the everyday lives of so many undocumented immigrants seeking to contribute to our economy;
- Solve the workforce limitations in our agricultural sector that are currently contributing to supply chain issues and raising cost concerns.
Fall 2021 polling by The LIBRE Initiative indicates that 93% of voters agree that immigration reforms are necessary and urgent. There is no need for congress to wait for meaningful action.
