Virginia Field Director
Juan O'Leary was born and raised in Washington, D.C. His father is of Irish decent and his mother is Salvadorian. He went on to study at Salisbury University, and graduated in 2013 with a BA in Political Science and a minor in Spanish. After graduating, Juan began working as a legal assistant for the Law Office of Hugo Alfaro in Washington, D.C. The firm's clientele was over 80% Hispanic, and the work focused mainly on immigration cases. This gave Juan an opportunity to interact with people in the Hispanic community on a daily basis. In the summer of 2012, Juan volunteered on Ken Cuccinelli's campaign for Governor of Virginia. While volunteering on the campaign, he was given the chance to interact with many people around the state. This campaign helped familiarize him with the needs of people, particularly those in the Hispanic community. Juan is fluent in English and Spanish, and is passionate about spreading the message of economic freedom and liberty to people in the community. He has seen firsthand how government regulations have impacted small businesses, forcing them to close due to things such as compliance costs, and believes that less intervention is necessary for a business to prosper. He began working for LIBRE in September of 2014 and is excited about the opportunity to carry out LIBRE's message to the Hispanic community as Virginia Field Director.
