Ezra C. Escudero is an Ohio native of Mexican heritage who has earned a reputation for successful leadership in technology, entrepreneurship, community and public service.
Born in Toledo and raised in Mansfield, Escudero graduated from The Ohio State University and began his career in technology consulting and sales in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with Unisys Corporation. Upon returning to Ohio, he founded and published Nuestro Ohio, Columbus' first fully bilingual biweekly newspaper.In 2003, Ezra was named Executive Director of the Ohio Commission on Hispanic/Latino Affairs, where he reinvigorated the agency with a new strategic focus and revolutionary set of internet-based community information system applications. He returned to the private sector in 2010 as an advisor in financial services with companies including MassMutual and JP Morgan Chase. Ezra was called back to public service in 2013 as the State Director of the Ohio SBDC Network (Small Business Development Centers). He and his team served as champions of Ohio's entrepreneurs, delivering technical assistance to over 9,000 small businesswomen and men every year at 30 centers around Ohio and 10 export centers around the world. Ezra launched a new e-Center initiative to deliver technical assistance on-line and crafted a new strategic plan with his team.
Escudero's passion for entrepreneurship is matched only by his love of philanthropy and charity. Over the years, he has made commitments of time and treasure with organizations including the Red Cross, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Alpha Psi Lambda, and the Knights of Columbus. Ezra has exhibited servant leadership, bringing together people through Hispanic Chambers of Commerce in Pittsburgh, Columbus, and across Ohio since 1997.
Ezra currently serves as State Field Director with The LIBRE Initiative, and with his wife Beth, lives close to family and friends in Gahanna, Ohio.
