Alexander A. Miles, a first generation Cuban-American and the oldest of seven children, was born and raised in Miami, Florida. After witnessing the struggle his family and others endured upon fleeing communist Cuba, Alex developed a strong interest in the cause of liberty and economic freedom. From an early age he became politically active, volunteering on various political campaigns to reduce the growing burden of taxation and government regulation which increasingly threatens to undermine our personal freedoms.
In 2007, he graduated with highest honors from Miami Dade College receiving his Associates in the Arts in History. He later attended Clemson University, and in 2009 he graduated cum laude with a BA in Political Science and a minor in Spanish. While attending Clemson he worked as substitute teacher focusing on inner city schools for the Greenville County School District.
After graduating from Clemson, Alexander returned to Miami, Florida to work as a political consultant in a number of state and county-wide political campaigns. In these roles he distinguished himself for his strong ability to organize political initiatives and galvanize community involvement at the grassroots level.
Alexander started working with LIBRE in November of 2014 as North Carolina Field Director based in the city of Charlotte and now works as a Field Director in the Tampa Bay, Florida region. In his free time he is active in his church and occasionally leads a bible study and prayer group.
