Alex Trevino is a seasoned, award-winning broadcast journalist who is thrilled to come home to the Lone Star State after living in the nation's capital for 6-years. He was a Television News Correspondent for the CBS affiliate (WUSA) in Washington, DC. Live breaking news stories from Capitol Hill was his forte but he loved exposing DC government corruption and major political scandals. The most memorable stories, however, involved being all over record-snowfall during February of 2010, widely referred to as "Snowmageddon." As a reporter/anchor for the #1 rated newscast in South Texas, Alex was highly-regarded for his in-depth investigations behind human trafficking, Mexican drug cartel violence and regional/international government corruption. He won 2 Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards, the Barbara Jordan Media Award from the Texas Governor's Committee on People with Disabilities and more than a dozen honors from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters.
Alex has also starred in several commercials, including one for the French company Canal Plus, featuring Tony Parker from the 5-time NBA World Champions, San Antonio Spurs.
Alex proudly serves as Texas Press Secretary for The LIBRE Initiative.
