Tell Congressman Garcia Communism Doesn't Work
LIBRE Launches Multimedia Campaign in South Florida
(Washington, D.C.) – The LIBRE Initiative today announces the launch of a new multimedia, Spanish language campaign to call attention to Congressman Joe Garcia's (FL-26) recent comments that "communism works" and his voting record in favor of expanding government at the cost of the community. The campaign will run for a period of three weeks in South Florida, featuring television and digital web ads. It notes Garcia's support for policies that grow the federal debt while imposing costly burdens on small business, and limiting job creation. The ads encourage viewers to call Congressman Garcia to send the message that communism doesn't work.
The LIBRE Initiative previously featured Congressman Garcia as part of "The Accountability Project," highlighting his support for Obamacare, which is increasing the cost of insurance, harming economic growth, and imposing costly tax penalties on those who do not purchase the expensive insurance policies approved by the federal government.
Daniel Garza, Executive Director of The LIBRE Initiative, released the following statement:
"Mr. Garcia doesn't seem to understand the dangers of higher government spending and excess regulation. The costly federal mandates and growing debt that he supports are crushing economic growth, and making it harder for his constituents to find jobs and save for the future.
It's no surprise therefore, that he thinks 'communism works' – that when everyone works for the government, things are perfect. Many of his constituents fled from precisely this sort of system, and on a daily basis, they worry about those who continue to suffer under such an oppressive system. It's time for Congressman Garcia to listen to those who are calling for change."
