LIBRE responds to bipartisan Immigration reform efforts

**IN CASE YOU MISSED IT** The LIBRE Initiative responds to the bipartisan efforts currently taking place on the Hill to reform our immigration system. For media inquiries and interview opportunity please contact: Judy Pino, 202-578-6424. Daniel Garza, Executive Director of The LIBRE Initiative released the following statement yesterday after meeting with members of “The Gang of Eight”: (Washington, DC) – “We are cautiously optimistic as efforts to reform our immigration system go through the democratic process, and are pleased that legislators continue to work with organizations such as ours during this historic moment in time that stands to impact the lives of millions of Hispanics who may be given the opportunity to become contributing members of the diverse fabric of our great nation. As Hispanics, we felt the sense of resignation when the last attempt to reform our broken immigration system fell short in 2007. I hope that time has brought wisdom to our Congress and that our legislators are able to pass a bipartisan bill that promises to secure our borders, reform our immigration system and boost our nation’s economy.” Read Garza’s editorial published on The Hill Congressional blog.
