LIBRE Launches Hispanic Heritage Month campaign: "Celebrating Latino Success"

Preserving a Land of Opportunity Where Anyone Can Succeed

(Washington, D.C.) – As Hispanic Heritage Month kicks off, the LIBRE Initiative will celebrate Hispanics in the United States and how they embraced the principles of hard work and opportunity to succeed. LIBRE will participate in events across the country from September 15th – October 15th aimed at promoting a more prosperous Hispanic community. LIBRE provides Latinos and others the tools they need to prosper in the U.S. by advocating policies that advance economic freedom and providing information to Hispanic communities to facilitate cultural, civic and economic assimilation.

Daniel Garza, Executive Director of The LIBRE Initiative released the following statement:

"Hispanic Heritage Month is a great time to recall generations of Latinos that have contributed to building this great nation, and to emphasize the importance of recent immigrants who contribute to our national prosperity. Our American history is filled with millions of Latino success stories – people who came here looking for the freedom to prosper that America provides. Through hard work and determination, they built better lives for themselves and futures for their loved ones. LIBRE's Hispanic Heritage celebration will honor those who helped build America.

Like most other immigrants, Latinos came to the United States to get away from governments that deprived them of important freedoms. Many could not keep the money that they earned through their hard work, or rise beyond the circumstances of their birth. They came here for the opportunity the U.S. has always offered to those who were willing to work hard and embrace this nation. As always, it is up to the current generation to ensure that the America we hand to our children remains that land of opportunity – a shining beacon for the world."
