(Washington D.C.) – On July 4th, the United States celebrates Independence Day.
Daniel Garza, Executive Director of The LIBRE Initiative released the following statement:
“Today our nation celebrates 239 years of freedom! At The LIBRE Initiative we continue to honor the principles our Founding Fathers set out for this country. We remember that America remains a great experiment – one that continues to succeed not because of government compulsion, but because we as a people work together to overcome challenges – today as we did back then.
Many Americans are immigrants who have suffered under oppressive governments that reject freedom and put the power of the state first. We are thankful that the United States of America remains a beacon of hope for all who seek opportunity, and who will join in upholding America’s long legacy of freedom. As we enjoy this 4th of July holiday, spending time with our friends and family, let us take a moment to honor those who have given everything so we may continue to breathe free and, above all, remember how fortunate we are to call ourselves Americans and live in these United States.”
