Congratulations on the Launch of Fusion

Congratulations on the Launch of Fusion

New Network Reaches out to Hispanic Millennials

(Washington, DC) – Today marks the launch of Fusion, a joint project of Disney/ABC and Univision.  Fusion is an English language cable channel aimed at millennials, featuring news, comedy, and sports, and will reportedly be initially available in about 20 million American homes. While the new network will feature programming of interest to all young people, it is expected to have a relevance to young Hispanics in particular.

Daniel Garza, Executive Director of The LIBRE Initiative released the following statement:

"Every day we see new indications of the growing significance of the Hispanic community in the United States. In business, politics, sports, and entertainment, Latinos are increasingly important both because of their size in the consumer market – representing more than $1 trillion in buying power – and because of the leadership roles taken by individual Latinos. The launch of Fusion – aimed at Hispanic millennials – is another sign that this is a demographic that must be listened to. The staff and volunteers at the LIBRE Initiative want to congratulate Fusion on its launch. It is our hope that Fusion becomes an important platform that continually endeavors to give the immense diversity of thought and ideas found within the Latino community its proper voice."
