The LIBRE Initiative Commemorates Hispanic Heritage Month

(Arlington, VA) – As Latinos around the nation prepare to commemorate Hispanic Heritage Month, the team of The LIBRE Initiative will hold events that celebrate the contributions that our community has made to the nation. These events are locally-led and organized, and intended to strengthen the local Hispanic community where they occur. They include a variety of themes, such as immigration, Hispanic leadership, and policy discussions, and they will highlight the contributions that Latinos have made – and are making – to our nation

Among the events to be hosted by The LIBRE Initiative are the following:

September 13: Immigration even hosted by The LIBRE Initiative in Orlando, Florida

September 15: The LIBRE Initiative participates in Columbus, GA community event

The LIBRE Initiative participates in a community celebration in Miami

September 20: The LIBRE Initiative cohosts Hispanic Leadership event with Texas Public Policy Foundation in Houston

Daniel Garza. President of The LIBRE Initiative, released the following statement:

“Today as always, it’s appropriate to salute America’s Latinos for what they do to make our nation a success. We are workers, families, veterans, teachers, people of faith, and so much more. And we love our country.

This year’s celebration marks 50 years since the first commemoration of Hispanic Heritage Week, and 30 years since President Reagan first observed Hispanic Heritage Month. Ever since The LIBRE Initiative was founded, our team has been pleased to partner with community organizations in places around the country to deliver services that help our community to prosper, and to contribute more to the country we love. It’s gratifying to highlight those contributions for one month each year.”
